Clarence Edward Jefferies Jr., affectionately known as Clay, was born December 18, 1955, in Oakland, California. He was the eldest of three children of Clarence Sr. and Ruth Jefferies. Clay graduated from Castlemont High School in 1974. He had a strong love for God and his family. He was a sports enthusiast, he wrote poetry and had an affinity for music. As a teenager Clay started to delve into music. He learned to play the clarinet, the guitar and most fondly the bass guitar. While working at Cal-Neva in Reno Nevada, he met his wife. Clay would later move to Lake Tahoe where he married Tammy and then moved to Sacramento where they wanted to start their family. They were blessed with a son; Norman and they were also blessed with raising their nieces and nephews as their own. Clay was a peaceful and mindful servant of God. While planting seeds of his own, he would become a counselor and help others along their journeys. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence SR. and Ruth Jefferies. Clay left us on January 21, 2019, and is survived by his wife; Tammy, Son; Norman, Brother; Cory, Sister; Mona, Brother-in-Law; Anthony, and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Clay is truly missed.
