Joseph Norris Thrash Jr.

January 19, 1956 ~ October 30, 2018 (age 62)

"Joseph Norris Thrash Jr. lost his battle with cancer when he passed away in his loving wife's arms in his final moments he was at peace.  He said that when he goes to be with the lord put a smile on his face because he had a great life."

Joseph Norris Thrash Jr. was born to Elizabeth René Frazier and Joseph Norris Thrash, Sr. on January 19, 1956, in Los Angeles, California. Two children were born to this union Joseph and his sister, Jovette Thrash.

During his early childhood, Joe would spend his time migrating between Los Angeles, California, and Compton, California. Although Joe dropped out of high school, he did not hesitate to obtain his GED. In 1975, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, he continued his education by completing the NCO Academy, NCO Leadership School, and Supervisory Development Course. Joe’s military career exemplified excellence he was awarded the Air Force, Commendation Medal, Outstanding Unit Award with 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster (OLC), Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver & 1 Bronze OLC, National Defense Services Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Bronze OLC, NCO PME Graduate Ribbon with 1 Bronze OLC, and a training ribbon. Joe exited the United States Air Force with an honorable discharge for 20 years of service. Joe spent the latter part of his career as a business owner in the transportation industry.

In 1975, he married Wendy Jones of Los Angeles, California, and to this union, 3 children were born; Tina, Regina, and Katrina. In 1991, he married Rena Moore, and to this union, Joe raised 1 child Anton and created an everlasting bond with 2 children Julius and Tiffanee.

In 2016, Joe married Chez Colson for 2 years, they enjoyed almost every moment with each other loving the LORD through the word and service, golfing, skating, and just being each other’s sanctuary.  During this time Joe reunited with his Pastor, Wilbur Brown of Del Paso Church of God.  Joe was an inspiration and teacher to the inherited children and grandchildren of this union.  

Joe leaves to carry on his legacy and memory, his wife Chez Colson-Thrash; 6 children, Tina Harrison, Regina Ortiz-Everette, Katrina Davis, Julius Mitchell, Tiffanee Mitchell, and Anton Hatcher; 22 grandchildren, Myresha, Theoatis Jr., Micheal, Daymeonta, Christina, Maliah, Macae, Noah, Alaia, Kayla, Anthony, Jazmine, Jay Sean, Jayde, Treyvon, Tiya, Brittany, Cameron, Donovan, Anton, Penelope, Italia; 1 sister Jovette Thrash, and host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
