Michael Samuel Lincoln “Mikey,” age 30, went home to be with the Lord, on November 15, 2017 in Chico, CA. Michael accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized in 1993 at Calvary Christian Center. Michael graduated from Natomas High School in 2005 and upon graduation, he attended Langston University in Oklahoma. After which he attended Butte Community College in Chico, CA. Michael returned to Sacramento and attended Sacramento City College from 2007 to 2008.
As a young child and throughout his life, Michael was very rambunctious. Between five and six years old, he was known for sliding down and jumping off banisters. He loved rough-housing everyone, especially his dad. Michael was very blessed by God to be gifted and talented with athletic ability and was very competitive. At an early age, Michael began playing pop-warner football, basketball, softball, baseball, and bowling. Michael especially loved playing basketball and was an avid basketball player. He continued playing basketball until his first year at Butte Community College. He relocated to Chandler, AZ and began mentoring young boys at Mountainside Fitness. His lifelong passion was someday to be a basketball coach. Michael’s favorite basketball and football teams were the Orlando Magic and the Dallas Cowboys. He also was an avid Lebron James fan.
Family was first to Michael. Kendra McBean was the love of his life and the mother of their precious daughter Maliah Jade Lincoln. Michael was a great dad to Maliah. She was his pride and joy; they were the best of buddies and were inseparable. Michael was a gentle soul. He loved and enjoyed life and wasn’t a stranger to anyone. His beautiful smile and infectious laughter would light up the room, he had a very funny sense of humor, and had a very witty and charming personality that made him a joy to be around. Michael and Kendra rescued a Peek-A-Poo whom Michael named “Polo” after his favorite designer. Michael always made time for his nieces and nephews when he was around them.
He was proceeded in death by his grandmother Mary Lincoln, great grandfather Bob Hale, grandfather Samuel H. Lincoln, Sr., great grandmother Willie Mae Freeman, and uncles Samuel H. Lincoln, Jr., Edward Hale, Thomas Palmer, William Green and Aunt Barbara Wright.
