Nathaniel Hunter, (my Hunter), passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. The second son of E.D. and Eva Tyson Hunter, he was born February 9, 1931, in Starke, Florida. He was a Korean War vet and a graduate of The University of Iowa College of Engineering (Mechanical). He worked for The Corp of Engineers (thirty plus years), and Phillip’s Enterprises. He was a longtime, active member of The Northern California Council of Black Professional Engineers, a member of St. Andrew’s AME Church men’s chorus, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and involved in numerous community organizations. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, four children, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers, and many more relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Monday, December 31, 2018, from 11-3PM at Thompson’s Rose Chapel, 3601 5th Ave. Burial January 2nd at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. A memorial service is planned for early spring.
