Othale Holland

June 30, 1942 ~ July 25, 2019 (age 77)

Evangelist Othale Holland was born June 30, 1942, to Rev. James Vincer  Harris and Mrs. Wertie Lee Harris. She was the seventh of eleven children.
Because her parents worked as farm laborers, Evangelist Holland went to school at several locations including Ruston, Louisiana, Gary, Indiana and     Yakima, Washington.  She also trained as a welder at S.O.I.C. in Seattle, Washington, where she was proud of her nontraditional trade. She worked hard and oftentimes was the only woman in her field.

Evangelist Holland moved to Yakima, Washington in 1956, where she met and married Deacon James Bethely (son of Rev. Peter and Sis. Hester [Bigmama] Bethely) in 1957. To that union, four sons were born: James Jr., Christopher, Marc Cedric, and Shawn. In 1972, Othale married Michael Holland Sr., and to that union, Michael Jr., and Michelle were born.
She loved her children, and she provided for them, working at the Presidio in San Francisco. She also worked as a licensed welder in Seattle, as a cook at the Progress House and preschool teacher at Eastside COGIC Day Care Center in Tacoma, Washington.  Evangelist Holland was a businesswoman, owning a Childcare Center that was highly trusted in the community.

Evangelist Holland accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age at Hico Baptist Church, in Hico, Louisiana. She was saved, sanctified, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Her desire was that people would not only be saved but that they would know the Word and that those teaching and preaching the Gospel would rightly divide the Word of Truth. Evangelist Holland would often fast and pray, she ministered to the gangs in the Hill Top area of Tacoma, Washington, and she traveled the country preaching and teaching the Gospel for over 42 years. Her spiritual walk and ministry impacted thousands of people and she will always be remembered for her undying, un-wavering faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Evangelist Holland departed this life on July 24, 2019, at 11:21 pm.  Surrounded by loved ones she leaves behind, husband of 47 years, Mr. Michael Holland, Sr. and her children, Mr. James Lee Bethely, Jr., Deacon Christopher Bethely (Linda), Rev.
