Robert Nathaniel Harris Sr. was born on July 8, 1938, to Nathaniel Vestal and Ethel Harris in New York City, where he was the eldest of seven children.
Robert was a man that lived life on his own terms and lived it to the fullest. He honorably served his country for twenty (20) years. The first four (4) years of his military career was served in the US Marine Corps and his final sixteen (16) years in the US Air Force. Robert loved people and had the opportunity to travel and see the world. One of Robert’s great loves was refereeing. He refereed softball and basketball games throughout northern California.
Robert is preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Vesta; mother, Ethel Harris; brothers, Stewart Harris, and George Harris and sisters, Althea Harris and Dorthea Harris.
Robert is survived by his children, Gazell Davis, Robert Harris Jr., Armand Harris Sr. (Marvena), LaToya Reed, Benecia Lewis, and Robin Harris; brothers, David Harris (Aida) and Calvin Harris (Annalie) all of whom he loved very much. He also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends whom he also loved dearly.
