Willie Edward Brown was born on April 12, 1928, to the late Willie Green and Lucinda Brown in Toomsuba, Mississippi. He was the first child of three born to this union. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ella Williams and Onie Mae Brown.
He accepted Christ at an early age at Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Toomsuba, Mississippi. His parents later moved to Meridian, Mississippi. There he attended school and became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. He remained a member until entering the military. He served in the United States Air Force from 1946 to 1966. After serving twenty years, he retired at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California with an honorable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
He settled in Sacramento, California, where he took a civilian job and was employed with the United States Government at the Sacramento Army Depot in Sacramento, California. There he met and married the late Sylvia Lee (Diggs) Brown of Sacramento, California. from this marriage of thirty-seven years, no children were born. He retired after twenty-two years of service with the Sacramento Army Depot. On November 8, 2009, he became a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.
Willie made his transition from labor to reward on Thursday, January 3, 2019, peacefully at home. He now joins his beloved wife Sylvia.
