Obituary

WilliamLionelClark was born November 9, 1939, in Chicago, Ill. to William and Bertha Clark. He was an only child. The Clark family moved to Muskegon Michigan in 1943. Bill accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age, and was a member of Westside Grace Mission Church, in Muskegon. Bill attended Maple Grove Elementary School and graduated from Muskegon Height School. Bill joined the Marine Corp and served 3 years before joining the Air Force. In 1960 he married Rosie Lay. To this union 6 children were born, Cheryl, Demetria, Gerald, Felix, Rachael, and William Jr. Bill began his 23-year career in the Air Force as an Inventory Management Specialist at Niagara Falls A.F.B., New York. Over the years Bill excelled in this field. He transitioned to flying status as an Aircraft Loadmaster, on his beloved Special Operations C-130 aircraft. He served the remainder of his career in this capacity amassing over 5000 flight hours and received numerous meritorious commendations. On July 17, 1976, Bill was united in marriage to Elizabeth Perry Coleman and became the loving and much-adored father of Dawn, Debra, and Michael. He became Pop. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1979 Bill began his second career with the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier. He retired after 20 years. Bill still found the time to go back to school. He earned his AA degree in Business Administration, from American River College in June of 1989. He also volunteered for Mercy Lifeline as an installer for 8 years. Bill and Liz loved to travel, with family and alone. They traveled to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean as well as most of the U.S. He joined Shiloh Baptist Church in July 1990. He was a member of the Male Chorus and became a Deacon in November of 1993. He was the Deacon for the Senior Usher Board, which he truly enjoyed. He was also Chairman of purchasing with the Deacon Board. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Elizabeth of 45 years, 9 children, a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren which he adored immensely, cousins, in-laws, and a host of special friends
